SHREE OM THERMEX 500 TMT

Ltd., Mumbai, the exclusive collaborators for Indian Territory, of M/s Hennigsdorfer Stahl Engg GmbH, Germany, the developer and patent holders of the coveted Thermex® Technology.

Quenching Stage :
The first Stage consists of a rapid water-cooling applied to the bar as it leaves the last finishing stand. The efficiency of the water cooling equipment used at this stage has to be as high as to produce a very hard cooling, on the bar surface, faster than the critical rate to form martensite so as to obtain a surface layer of crude martensite.

Tempering Stage :
In the Second Stage the bar leaves the water quenching line and is exposed to air. The heat flux from the still hot core reheats the quenched surface by conduction and the martensite formed in the first stage is thus subjected to self-tempering, which ensures adequate ductility while maintaining high Yield Strength levels.

Final Cooling Stage :
The Third Stage occurs on the cooling bed and it consists of a semi-isothermal transformation of the still untransformed austenite in the core of the bar.
At the end of the Quenching process the structure as shown in the bar cross section is obtained consisting of a peripheral layer of tempered martensite, an inner annular area of mixed bainitic products and the core presenting a structure of perrite-ferrite (plus bainite in small diameters).

BETTER CORROSION RESISTANCE :
SHREE OM™ TMT Bars show virtually no rusting even after a long time as there is absence of residual stress caused in case of CTD Bars.

THERMAL STABILITY :
SHREE OM™ TMT Bars have high thermal stability unlike CTD/Tor Steel. It can be used even at high temperature till 600° C without any drop in strength.

EXCELLENT STRAIGHTNESS :
SHREE OM™ TMT Bars are produced in straight length unlike most of the mills, which produce the rebars in coil form. SHREE OM™ TMT is passed through a Special Rotary Flying Shear after passing through the cooling system, which ensures perfect straightness.

HIGHER WELDABILITY :
SHREE OM™ TMT Bars are produced from in house Billets. It can be used in making of prewelded meshes.

EARTHQUAKE RESISTANCE :
Indian Code does not permit use of steel bars with less than 14.5% elongation in earthquake zones no. 4 & 5. SHREE OM™ TMT Bars guarantee elongation well above 15%.

EXCELLENT RIBS :
SHREE OM™ TMT Bars, have machine – made RIBS with Deeper Grooves so that more cement can grip the surface.

MORE VALUE FOR MONEY :
SHREE OM™ TMT Bars provide more value for money due to saving as high as 10%-24% in steel consumption compared to CTD Bars.

Key Reasons Why you Should use SHREE OM™ TMT Bars?


In-house Raw Material :
We are the only company in Maharashtra, which has fully integrated manufacturing facilities under one roof. This gives us total control over the chemical composition of the material. Following is the integrated facility.

Sponge Iron Manufacturing Plant :
We bring the Iron ore from Karnataka and Coal from South Africa and Produce the Sponge for Captive Consumption. Qualities of bars mostly depend on the type of material used for making the Ingot/ billets. We use max Sponge Iron for producing the billets. Hence we are achieving the best quality of steel.

Billet Manufacturing Plant :
We use the in-house Sponge Iron in the Induction furnace and cast the billet by Concast technology. Many mills use the Ingot instead of Billet to produce the bars. The quality of bars largely depends on quality of input to the mill (i.e. Ingot or Billets). Bars made from Billets have superior strength and elongation.

Automatic Rolling Mill :
Unlike Torsteel and CTD rebars, Thermex bars have high thermal stability. They are the preferred choice when elevated temperature of 400-600oC may be encountered.
